Arrangements for members to park without charge had been criticised |
Hundreds of people who work for the States in Jersey may have to pay for parking in future. Politicians are due to decide whether States members should pay a parking fee when on official business.
Now Senator Jean le Maistre says the charges should also be applied to all public employees.
He says some States departments do not have staff parking, while others provide nearly every member of staff with free spaces.
Politicians have benefited from free parking for years, but the Environment and Public Services Committee has announced that could change.
It is proposed that 35 spaces will be available for members at 78 per month.
The Island Site, where members used to park, is currently being redeveloped.
