Parking charges for politicians
Pay and display parking machine
Arrangements for members to park without charge had been criticised
Jersey's politicians will have to pay parking charges in future when they are on official business.

Members who have previously been able to park without charge will now have to pay almost 80 a month if they want to use an official space.

An offer of free parking at car parks in Sand Street and Pier Road, St Helier, was withdrawn after complaints.

Now the Privileges and Procedures committee says 35 spaces will be available for members at 78 per month.

The announcement means that parking control officers will have to park elsewhere while they are working.

The Island Site, where members used to park, is currently being redeveloped.
