Organisers have been unable to find an alternative venue after difficulties securing the Waterfront because of the dwindling number of stallholders.

Plans to hold the fair in St Helier's Royal Square or Parade Gardens were also ruled out.

This year would have been the 20th anniversary of the fair which was an opportunity to showcase traditional Portuguese cuisine and musical talent.
