A grave in a Jersey church yard has been vandalised.

The grave was damaged on Monday night at St Clement's parish church, according to Jersey Police.

Officers said that it was a "particularly unpleasant act" and they were making every effort to catch the perpetrators.

Pc Mick Robbins said: "Vandals attacked a grave and damage was caused to a wooden cross. This crime caused particular distress to the family."
