| New plans to give extra tax breaks to parents of children in further education could cost Jersey taxpayers �250,000 a year. Deputy Bob Hill wants a �5,000 allowance to be given to parents with children over 17 who are living at home while in further education. The Treasury says it could mean a tax loss of �250,000 a year at a time when the States is trying to cut costs. The matter will be debated by the States on Wednesday.
