Report due on planned new taxes
Jersey currency
States members will receive a copy of the report
A report into new taxes being planned for Jersey will be published next week by a UK specialist.

Accountants Pricewaterhouse Coopers were asked to examine the Policy and Resources Committee tax and spending plans.

The company also studied the alternatives which had been proposed by Senator Stuart Syvret.

Those in charge of Jersey's finances have said the accountants' findings will be made public on Tuesday.

Accountants' impartiality

Finance President, Senator Terry Le Sueur, has confirmed the report will be sent to all States members when it is received on Monday.

It will be published the following day.

Mr Le Sueur said a transcript of the conversation between Mr Syvret and Pricewaterhouse accountant John Whiting, from their meeting, will be available to politicians too.

Mr Le Sueur said this would demonstrate Mr Whiting's impartiality.
