The D-Day landings were a turning point in World War II

Veterans marched from People's Park to the Cenotaph for a service where they were joined by Jersey's Lieutenant Governor, Sir John Cheshire.

He and the Deputy Bailiff Michael Birt and the Constable of St Helier Simon Crowcroft all laid wreaths.

There was no parking on York Street, Seale Street or between the Town Hall and Gloucester Street.
