New honorary police chief named
The new leader of St Helier's Honorary police says he wants to promote a better image for the organisation.

The new Chef de Police, Centenier David Christie, says the public should know more about the good work carried out by the force.

Centenier Christie has been in the St Helier Honorary police for 14 years.

His promotion to Chef de Police means he is now in charge of the 31 officers in the parish and he wants to attract more people to join.

In common with other parishes the St Helier force is below strength , with 23 fewer officers than the 54 required.
