Constable wants private town help
A Jersey Constable is hoping private firms will help improve St Helier's town centre.

The Centre Ville Group, which was set up to coordinate improvements in town, is no longer being funded by the island's States.

Funding actually stopped about a year ago, but Constable Simon Crowcroft wants to restart it, saying there was still some money left it could use.

But he added he hoped local companies would take part in improving the town.

The Centre Ville Group was set up to organise events to brighten up the town, including the Christmas festival La Fete de Noue.

Constable Simon Crowcroft is holding a meeting in the Town Hall at 1400 BST on Friday to discuss the situation.
