Skateboarders get 1,000 for park
People in the Jersey parish of St Helier are to spend 1,000 towards setting up a skateboard park.

The move follows a survey by the First Tower Community Association which asked people to come up with suggestions about how to improve the area.

Other suggestions included putting up monkey and parallel bars in the park for children to play on.

But it was decided the money should go towards building a skateboard and BMX bike area for youngsters.

There are also plans to set up a drop-in cafe in the area.

It is hoped this will be set up as soon as possible.
