Concern over young unemployment
Job centre
Unemployment is higher in young adults
Young people living in Jersey could get more help in finding jobs.

There has been concern over figures which show 19 to 24-year-olds find it hardest to find employment.

Unemployment was considerably down on last month, but Senator Paul Routier said he was still concerned about when they leave school or university.

The Employment and Social Security Committee are planning to meet the Education Committee to try to find ways to help young people.

Mr Routier said: "We want to ensure that we are prepared.

"In a few months time there will be people leaving education for the first time who will be looking for employment.

"There is a concern for that age group."
