Airlines compete for passengers
Two airlines are to compete for passengers between the Channel Islands.

Guernsey's transport authorities have granted Rockhopper a licence to fly between Guernsey and Alderney, a route currently operated by Aurigny.

Rockhopper claims it will stop a decline in the number of people travelling between the islands and says competition will bring fares down.

Rockhopper currently has passenger services from Jersey to Guernsey and from Jersey to Alderney.

The airline plans to start running two flights daily in each direction from 4 October.
