Ads will feature the islands' beaches |
Jersey and Guernsey are hoping a new tourism initiative will encourage more visitors to journey to the islands from France. Jersey is spending nearly 200,000 on the scheme, with Guernsey putting in half that amount.
It will feature newspaper adverts and posters across the North of France and in Paris.
They will advertise both islands, with pictures of beaches, cliff tops, castles and pubs.
Companies involved in the tourism industry will also feature in the advertising in return for a contribution towards the cost.
Closer co-operation
The campaign runs from the end of this month until June, and then again from September until October.
Julian Barber of Jersey Tourism says the investment should create more business in the quieter months of the season.
The move is the latest sign of closer co-operation between tourism officials in the islands.
Jersey and Guernsey tourism officials teamed up at the London Boat Show to bring in more yachtsmen and women to the Channel Islands.
The islands had a joint stand at the Southampton Boat Show last year.
They say by sharing the budgets of the departments they are able to have a bigger presence.
