Island's fast ferry out of action
Superseacat Two
The ferry was the first of the Steam Packet fleet to be overhauled
The fast ferry from the Isle of Man to Liverpool is out of service, less than a month after improvement work on it was completed.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company says the Superseacat Two will go into a dry dock for two days.

Damage to a water-jet which powers the vessel, which may have been caused by floating debris, is being investigated.

The route will be run by the Sea Express One, the craft formerly called Seacat Isle of Man.

Upgrade

Superseacat Two returned to service last month after eight weeks in the dry dock at Birkenhead for refurbishments.

Passenger areas have been improved as well as standard engine maintenance.

A cafe bar has been created, its lounge extended and toilet facilities upgraded.

The Superseacat Two was the first of the firm's fleet to be upgraded.
