Disruptive ship passengers warned
Steam Packet ferries
Ferry services sail to four ports in the UK and Ireland
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company says it is clamping down on disruptive behaviour with a "zero tolerance" policy on its ships.

Staff could refuse travel to passengers who are drunk, smoking in restricted areas or are being abusive.

Mark Woodward, operations director, said that bad behaviour upsets fellow passengers and could even compromise safety on board.

Ships sail between the island and Liverpool, Heysham, Dublin and Belfast.

The company, which has been operating for 175 years, says staff will serve "warning notices" on disruptive passengers and will call police if the behaviour continues.

Mr Woodward added: "The Steam Packet's primary concern must always be the safety and security of its passengers, crew and staff.

"This policy involves tackling any signs of a potential problem as soon as it arises."
