 Sir Paul will be sworn in at Castle Rushen |
The Isle of Man's new Lieutenant Governor, Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks, was sworn in on Monday. Sir Paul, who is the Queen's representative on the island, sailed to the island from Liverpool on Friday.
He was sworn in at Castle Rushen in Castletown. The previous governor, Air Marshal Ian Macfadyen OBE, relinquished his post last month.
He has had a distinguished career in the royal Navy, serving as Commander of the UK Task force in the Gulf in 1990.
He has also served as a UK Military Representative at NATO Headquarters and EU Headquarters.
Tynwald debated on Tuesday proposals to change the title governor to Crown Commissioner.
