Hopes rise for milk dispute end

A dispute between Guernsey's milk retailers and the Commerce & Employment Department could soon be over.

The department is recommending milk deliverers be given exclusive rights over their rounds and to sell all local dairy products to doorstep customers.

But the dairy will retain the right to sell butter, cheese and cream to wholesale customers.

The milk retailers welcomed some of the proposals, but said they would be looking at the detail.
