Panel agrees on milk price rise
A States panel has recommended increasing the price of Guernsey milk.

The Milk Price Review Panel has advised raising the retail price per litre by 17 pence to 87 pence, and half-litres by nine pence.

The panel, set up by the Commerce and Employment department, recommended the increase be introduced in December.

The panel's findings have been submitted to the States and talks are planned with Milk Retailers and the Guernsey Farmers Association.

The panel received 16 written submissions and had four meetings in September with interested parties.
