Scratching birds damaging graves
Graveyard
Burial plots show the damage
More than 50 graves at one of Guernsey's largest cemeteries are being damaged by a flock of chickens.

The feral birds, from a private property next to the Vale Church, have been scratching away grass above tombs in the graveyards.

The results have prompted complaints from upset relatives.

Brian de Jersey, secretary of the Vale Parochial Cemetery, says without their owner's co-operation there is little that can be done to solve the problem.
