Chairman appointed to pay dispute
An independent arbitrator from the UK has been appointed to resolve a pay dispute at Guernsey Airport.

The dispute has led to a refusal by fire crews to do any overtime other than emergency cover.

Firefighters want a pay increase in line with the cost of living. They have rejected a proposed rise of 4.5%.

A tribunal is due to start on Friday. It will be chaired by John Mulholland, an experienced arbitrator for Acas who has worked in Guernsey in the past.
