A Guernsey minister is warning fellow Deputies not to go back on support for the Corporate Housing Scheme. The scheme, which aims to offer affordable accommodation for local residents, won near unanimous support from the States two years ago.
Last week, States members voted to spend millions on new schools.
But Housing Minister Dave Jones said he was concerned that this could leave little cash available for capital projects such as new homes.
Deputy Jones said he wanted States members to make it a priority when deciding how to allocate funds.
He said he feared health and education could be given precedence at the expense of other areas.
The Housing Department expects to bring detailed plans for the scheme before the States in the autumn.
