House prices 'higher in Jersey'
An average home in Jersey is now 42,000 more expensive than a similar property in Guernsey.

Prices have increased by 5,000 compared to the same time last year, taking the cost of a typical home on the island to 330,000.

In Guernsey the same property would cost about 288,000.

New figures from the States show the cost of a house has stayed steady for the past year and Senator Frank Walker says that is good news for Jersey.

"Stable house prices and strong demand is what one would hope to see in the housing market and it's clear evidence that our policies are working," said the president of Policy and Resources.
