Developments needs more thought
A Guernsey politician is calling for greater consideration to be given to the effects of new building projects on the island.

Brian de Jersey believes there is a lack of foresight over the effect of such developments on traffic.

Deputy de Jersey cites the example of a plan to build more than 30 houses on a site in the Vale area of the island.

He believes lanes in the area will not be able to cope with the increased volume of traffic.

He is also concerned about access for emergency vehicles.

Mr De Jersey says he would like to see a more pro-active stance taken on traffic issues, rather than waiting for problems to arise after a development has started.
