A single civil aviation director could be appointed |
Jersey and Guernsey should work closer together on joint issues, according to senior politicians in both islands. The islands are set to undertake a review on the viability of sending waste to one island or somewhere in Europe for disposal.
States members are also planning to approach the UK lottery authorities next year with a view to replacing the Channel Island version.
Both islands are also discussing some joint transport policies.
Trade links
There will be discussions on attracting more flights to the islands by marketing either Jersey or Guernsey as a hub airport and appointing a civil aviation director for the Channel Islands.
There are also plans to join together to lobby the French government over trade links and the implications of extending the Flamanville Nuclear power plant.
Jersey and Guernsey already have an in-principal agreement for an auditor general to cover both islands.
In June Jersey senator Philip Ozouf said co-operation where it is sensible for the benefit of all Channel Islanders would save money and make them a more powerful economic force.
