Ferries cancelled amid gales fear
Guernsey gale
Strong winds and high tides are predicted
Weather forecasters are warning strong winds and high tides are likely to cause disruption across the Channel Islands over the next few days.

The prospect of bad weather has led to the cancellation of all of Wednesday's fast ferry sailings in Guernsey.

Condor has also scrapped all its day trips because of gale warnings.

Boat owners are being warned to secure vessels properly and motorists are being advised to take extra care when driving along roads close to sea walls.

Swell and waves combined with spring high water is likely to see seawater break over exposed sea walls particularly around Bulwer Avenue and Havelet Bay.

Ferry passengers are advised to call the Port Office on 01481 729666 to make alternative travel arrangements.
