Charles visit plans in jeopardy

Bad weather could could force a change of plan for organisers of the Prince of Wales's visit to Guernsey on Wednesday.

Outdoor events due to take place at Castle Cornet may have to be moved to the Beau Sejour Theatre.

Uncertainty over weather conditions on the day means the prince's proposed visit to Herm now hangs in the balance.

The Prince is spending two days on the Channel Islands to celebrate their eight centuries of loyalty to the monarchy.

In 1204, King John of England lost his possessions in Normandy but the Channel Islands decided to remain loyal to the English king rather than become part of their nearer neighbour, France.

On Jersey on Tuesday, Charles illuminated his mother's new portrait - the first official hologram of the Queen which was created by artist Chris Levine.
