The pilot and a second passenger are still in hospital
An inquest into the death of a man from Guernsey who was killed in a plane crash near Bournemouth airport 10 days ago has been opened and adjourned.

Andrew Anderson was a passenger in a light aircraft which came down near a children's theme park shortly after take off.

Pilot Rob Le Page and the other passenger, David Bougourd, are still being treated for their injuries.

The inquest into his death has been indefinitely adjourned.

Mr Le Page and Mr Bougourd remain seriously ill in Salisbury District Hospital in Wiltshire.

Experienced pilot

The Guernsey-based aircraft had refuelled at Bournemouth en route to Henstridge in Somerset.

It came down near the southwest corner of the airport - 20 yards from the entrance to the Alice in Wonderland theme park, which was packed with about 400 children.

Mr Bougourd, in his 50s, works as an air traffic control assistant at Guernsey Airport.

Mr Le Page is an experienced pilot and active member of Guernsey Aero Club.

Investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
