Guernsey's new Royal Court building is on budget and due for completion on time, according to States officials. The �17.5m project to extend and refurbish the courts is well under way with the signing up of local contractors RG Falla.
The Board of Administration has also appointed a project planning supervisor to oversee the work.
Consultancy firm TPS Schal is to manage the project which is expected to be finished in 2006.
Listed building
The Bailiff and senior politicians recently attended the blessing of a foundation stone to mark the start of construction.
The States decided to develop the site in St Peter Port to provide modern accommodation for the administration of justice in the Bailiwick.
The project involves a mix of refurbishment and new build, as well as restoration of the listed building.
Facilities will include more criminal and magistrate courts, custody and probation suites and more office space.
