Drug Concern says support is also available for parents |
More young people living in Guernsey are getting involved with drugs, according to a new report. Drug Concern says its six-monthly statistics show a slight increase in the number of young people contacting the charity.
Manager Tracy Rear says Drug Concern offers advice and support to drug users, their friends and families.
But she admits the figures are of concern to her and are certain to be of concern to parents.
 | If they can be courageous enough to come forward, they'll get support and information |
Ms Rear said: "If parents don't know what the issues are, they should get themselves into a position where they do and link up with parents in a similar situation.
"The support group, Dads and Mums Against Drugs, do great work in supporting one another.
"Because it's a small island, parents in particular may feel isolated and don't want to come forward.
"But if they can be courageous enough to come forward, they'll get support and information."
