Turkish bid for ferry job
A shipyard which has recently completed building eight vessels for the Turkish navy is being recommended for the the construction of a new passenger ferry for Sark.

The Sark Shipping Committee has visited the yard near the Turkish city of Istanbul and says it offers the best facilities for the job.

The new ferry, which will cost nearly �2m, could be delivered by spring next year.

Taxes are going up in Sark to pay for the new ferry.
