Some islanders have been charged for calls they have not made
A computer fault has resulted in a number of Guernsey people being overcharged for telephone calls.

Cable & Wireless says its billing system has not been storing information properly.

Some islanders have been sent bills made out to the wrong person.

One islander said they had a telephone line cancelled in November but were still being billed for it.

Cable & Wireless has apologised for the problems and says they have affected about 1% of recent calls.

It has promised to compensate those customers who have been overcharged.

The company said because of the computer fault, some islanders with new connections may not yet have received their bills.
