Storm hits phone lines
lightning
The damage was caused by Friday evening's thunder and lightning storm
A number of island homes and businesses have had their phone lines cut by Friday evening's thunder and lightning storm.

Cable and Wireless Guernsey has said it has called in extra engineers to tackle the damage.

It hopes to restore people's phone connections as soon as possible.

Some of the biggest disruption was caused to Beau Sejour leisure centre in St Peter Port.

But Cable and Wireless says telephone services to the centre have now been restored.
