Concern over phone masts
Mobile phone mast
Wave Telecom has plans to put up more than 25 masts
More Guernsey people should be concerned about the number of mobile phone masts being erected around the island, according to one islander.

Questions are being asked about Guernsey's planning system by Peter van der Schagt, who is worried about the visual impact and health issues associated with the masts.

He lives next door to one of the eight sites where Wave Telecom wishes to construct aerials.

Wave Telecom has applied for permission to use the sites and has plans to put up more than 25 masts around the island.

Residents of the Cammu Lane in St Martins are unhappy with the way the applications are being dealt with.

Residents of Les Osmonds Lane were the first to voice concerns about the plans for a 15 metre (50 foot) high aerial to be erected in their area.
