Hotels set for revamp
Bailiwick tourist chiefs have voiced their delight at the acquisition of two local hotels by a Guernsey supplier of nutritional supplements.

Healthspan has bought the Sea View Hotel in Alderney and La Favorita Hotel in Guernsey.

The firm wants to redevelop and extend the Sea View, and Le Favorita, which has 33 rooms.

Alderney's public affairs and marketing manager, Ilona Soane Sands, said: "This has pleased tour operators.

"But most of the concerns of tour operators are about the cost of getting to the islands, and that is something we still have to work at."

Healthspan managing director Derek Coates said the company's new tourism arm, Healthspan Leisure, would market the Bailiwick as "the jewels in the crown".

The firm is also said to be looking at other properties to redevelop in the Bailiwick.
