'No conflict' over land deal
Jersey States
Senator Frank Walker: "It's not an issue".
The President of Policy and Resources (P&R) says there is no conflict of interest from three committee members regarding a controversial land deal in Jersey.

Three P&R members have declared interests in Channel Island Traders, which has a stake in Les Pas Holdings.

The States is planning to give a piece of land worth 10m to Les Pas to settle a dispute over its claim to ownership of St Helier's foreshore.

Senator Paul Le Claire is threatening to bring a vote of no confidence in the committee over what he claims is a conflict of interest.

But P&R president Senator Frank Walker says it is not an issue.

"It should not be a problem because they've declared their interests at every stage," said Senator Walker.

"The interests are, I understand, minimal in any case.

"When the States is invited to take a decision on the proposition brought forwards by P&R they will be obliged to declare their interests at that point."
