Traffic is Murphy's 'first priority'
Ballot Box
The post has been left vacant by the retirement of Constable Frank Amy
Grouville's new Constable says slowing traffic along a road in his Jersey parish is his first priority.

Daniel Murphy, a financial adviser, won Thursday's election and will take over from Frank Amy, who is stepping down because of ill-health.

He beat his opponent Bruce Willing by 346 votes.

He says he would like to sit on either the Housing or Planning Committees but wants to concentrate on parish issues first.

He says his first aim is to solve parishioners worries about traffic on the coast road from La Rocque to Longbeach.
