Tenants can air views
Tenants of Guernsey States Housing have new forum to voice issues that are affecting them.

A newly formed States Tenants Action Group, is independent of the Housing Authority, but will develop into a body that can clearly represent tenants' views.

The President of the States Tenants Action Group, Walter de la Mare, says he is pleased with the work the Housing Authority is doing to improve Guernsey's housing estates.

And he singled out the work on the Rougeval Estate for special praise.

Fluid role

"Initially our main aim is to discuss the rents and rebates scheme and to act individually and collectively for States' tenants," said Mr de la Mare.

"We are willing to leave our future role fluid and open and to be proactive and not reactive."

A public meeting of the group will take place later this month.
