Guernsey Post wants to emphasise the importance of using postcodes
Guernsey Post is launching a new scheme to make it easier for islanders to find local postcodes.

A new internet search facility goes live on Tuesday and will be backed up with a mail drop during the coming week.

Guernsey Post is emphasising the importance of using postcodes, now that mechanised sorting is an integral part of the efficiency of mail delivery.

Many people have said they have trouble locating the codes and the new initiative has been launched to solve the problem.

Printed copies

Printed copies of the postcode finders will be delivered to every Bailiwick address over the coming week.

Businesses will be receiving CD-ROMs with the information in a bid to cut down on mail sorting by hand.
