The fate of St Sampson's Harbour is under consideration in the States on Wednesday. The Board of Administration is asking the States to approve a �3m contract to convert the northern port into a 350-berth marina-style harbour.
The States has already approved the move in principle, but the Board's plans have faced strong resistance.

Proposals amendments
Members are facing a full three days debate in a packed Billet, but the future of St Sampson's is likely to occupy most of the time available on Wednesday.
The proposals already face three amendments.
Deputy Roy Bisson will be asking the States to require the Board to consult more widely over the design and heritage issues, whilst proceeding with the clean up of the harbour.
Deputy Peter Roffey wants to see a re-configuration of moorings in the inner harbour to create a clear central pool, whilst Deputy Mary Lowe wants the marina project to be shelved altogether, save for the clean-up of the sediment in the harbour.
