Transformers still rule UK cinema

Transformers
The first Transformers film grossed 431m worldwide in 2007

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has stayed at the top of the UK and Ireland box office, taking £4.3m in its second week of release.

The movie was well ahead of comic caper The Hangover, which took £1.9m and remained steady in second spot.

Year One and drama My Sister's Keeper, starring Cameron Diaz, entered the chart at three and four respectively.

Blood: The Last Vampire, Bollywood release New York and Sunshine Cleaning also made their debuts in the top 10.

The sequel to the 2007 Transformers film, starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, took £8.35m in its first three days - the biggest opening for a film so far this year.

The figure is just shy of The Dark Knight's takings of £8.6m in its debut weekend last year.

It easily beat Terminator Salvation which took £6.94m earlier this month, which is at number six in this week's chart, just behind Night at the Museum 2 at five.
