Surprise hit comedy The Hangover made way for the summer blockbuster at number two but still had a strong weekend, taking £2.25m in box office receipts.

The rest of the top 10 provided little competition for the top two films.

Holding steady at three was Ben Stiller film Night At The Museum 2 with £817,000, taking its five-week total to £18.3m.

Terminator Salvation fell two places to four after taking £804,000 in its third week of release.

Tom Hanks film Angels and Demons completed the top five.
