Gervais played a trio of concerts in New York last year |
Comic and actor Ricky Gervais is to headline the New York Comedy Festival in November, organisers have announced. The star of The Office and Extras will perform a show at the city's Carnegie Hall, capping an event which will feature 150 comic performers. Gervais called it an "amazing honour", and said his concert would be "just down the road from my apartment". It will be the Emmy winner's first New York show since playing Madison Square Gardens in 2008. Gervais added that he would be able to walk to work for his performance. "I won't walk obviously. I'll take a limo. But I could walk if I had to," joked the star. The New York Comedy Festival is due to take place on 4-8 November, and will encompass 10 venues.
