Ricky Gervais appeared at last year's Emmys ceremony |
Comedian and actor Ricky Gervais has been lined up to present an award at the Golden Globes in January. Gervais starred in and wrote The Office and Extras - the only two British sitcoms that have ever won prizes at the US awards ceremony. The 47-year-old said to it was an "amazing honour" to be asked to present an award. "Winning two Globes back in 2004 is still a career highlight, and this time I even get a goody bag," he said. The awards will take place in Beverly Hills on 11 January. Along with his three Golden Globes, Gervais has also won two Emmys and seven Baftas. Last year he presented at the Emmy ceremony in Los Angeles. The star's career has gone from strength to strength in both the UK and the US. Earlier in the year he starred in Hollywood film Ghost Town.
