Third pregnancy for X Files star

Anderson is poised to reprise her role as Agent Scully

X Files star Gillian Anderson is expecting her third child in the autumn, her manager has confirmed.

The 39-year-old actress already has an 18-month-old son with businessman boyfriend Mark Griffiths.

Her teenage daughter Piper was from her first marriage to production designer Clyde Klotz. Anderson divorced her second husband after 16 months.

The second big screen version of the long-running sci-fi TV serial is due to be released in the US on 25 July.

Anderson will be reunited with co-star David Duchovny for the new film, subtitled I Want To Believe.

The actress, who appeared in the BBC adaptation of Charles Dickens' Bleak House, is to co-star in comedy film How To Lose Friends and Alienate People.

The movie, which also stars Kirsten Dunst, is expected to come out later this year.
