LaBeouf (r) co-stars with Harrison Ford in the fourth Indiana Jones |
Actor Shia LaBeouf has spoken about his arrest last year for refusing to leave a shop in Chicago, blaming the incident on "complete and utter insanity". "It was a mistake I'm still completely embarrassed about," the Transformers star told UK movie magazine Empire.
"There are lessons in life I need to learn, and I'm learning all of them in front of the public," he added.
The 21-year-old American will next be seen in the fourth Indiana Jones film, alongside Harrison Ford.
It has been reported that Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will screen at the Cannes Film Festival ahead of its worldwide release in May.
'Misdemeanour'
LaBeouf was charged with trespassing after he refused to leave a branch of the Walgreens drug store in Chicago last November.
The charges were dropped the following month after the chain decided to take no further action.
The actor attributed his behaviour to being "in the middle of a strange mind state, having just come off a three-month window of focus".
"I can't diminish what happened at all," he is quoted as saying. "But I can say this - I'm not the first 21-year-old to be arrested for a misdemeanour."
