Elvis died when Lisa Marie Presley was just nine years old |
A video of Lisa Marie Presley singing In the Ghetto, accompanied by her late father Elvis Presley, is to be released on the internet. It will be posted on Spinner.com to mark the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death.
Lisa Marie Presley said her voice was added to the original 1969 version of the hit song.
She said: "I've never cried when I've done anything, but I just lost it when I heard it."
She added: "It's pretty organic. There are no bells and whistles - they just added me into the original recording."
Homeless project
The full interview will be published along with the video on Friday, a spokesman for the AOL internet site said.
Proceeds from the new song and video will be used to help build temporary housing for the homeless in New Orleans, she said.
The project is to be similar to Presley Place, a 12-unit apartment building for the homeless built in Memphis by Elvis Presley Enterprises in 2001.
Lisa Marie, 39, is also due to attend a concert in Memphis on Thursday. It will feature her father performing on video, with live support from his former backing singers and band members.
