Elton plans 60th birthday shows
Sir Elton John performing his Red Piano Show
The show includes classic songs like Candle in the Wind and Rocket Man
Sir Elton John is to perform at venues including France's Palace of Versailles and the Brandenburg Gate, Germany, on a tour to mark his 60th birthday.

The legendary musician is to bring the show he has been performing in Las Vegas to five European sites for gigs also marking 40 years of touring.

Tickets for the show - on the theme of love - start at 150 euros (100).

Pop group the Pet Shop Boys have also announced their first UK tour in five years, playing five concerts in May.

Sir Elton's tour starts in Seville, Spain, in May, includes two dates in Venice in June, and finishes with a July concert in Moscow.

A UK date is expected to be added later.

The show's designer, photographer David LaChapelle, calls it a "visual extravaganza, a collage of all the outrageous and beautiful images Elton has been responsible for in his career".

Pet Shop Boys will also play dates in mainland Europe, South America, Australia and New Zealand this year.
