 | The Queen is up for more awards than any other film |
Fresh from being nominated for three Golden Globes, Dame Helen Mirren has been shortlisted for two more awards by the London Film Critics' Circle. Her nominations - for best actress and best British actress - are two of seven received by royal drama The Queen.
Dame Judi Dench is up for the same two awards for her role in the forthcoming British film, Notes on a Scandal.
Africa-based thriller The Last King of Scotland is up for five awards, while Scottish film Red Road could win four.
The winners will be announced on 8 February 2007.
Overlooked
Hijack drama United 93, overlooked by the Globes, is one of five features competing for the film of the year prize.

The others are The Queen, crime thriller The Departed, US comedy Little Miss Sunshine and Spanish film Volver. Volver is also up for foreign language film of the year - a category that also includes Mel Gibson's Mayan epic Apocalypto.
Sacha Baron Cohen is nominated for British actor of the year, alongside Timothy Spall and Shameless star James McAvoy.
But while Helen McCrory lands an acting citation for playing Cherie Blair in The Queen, her on-screen husband Michael Sheen misses out.
