Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx play Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs |
Hollywood stars Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx have attended the European premiere of Miami Vice in London. The film version of the 1980s TV show, directed by Michael Mann, stars the pair as undercover cops James "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs.
British actress Naomie Harris, who plays Foxx's intelligence analyst girlfriend, was also on the red carpet in Leicester Square.
The 73m film opens in cinemas in the UK next week.
Mann, whose other films include Heat and Collateral, has said he wanted to make a Miami Vice film since he saw the script for the pilot episode of the TV series.
The 63-year-old director was an executive producer of the TV classic, which starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas and ran from 1984 to 1989.
Speaking on the red carpet, Oscar-winner Foxx joked: "I asked Michael Mann very politely if he would let me be in the film, if he would give me a few lines or let me hang about on set.
"I loved watching the original, but this is different to the original series. Michael Mann strips it down and makes it sexy."
Other celebrities to attend the event included Ewan McGregor, Samuel L Jackson and members of Liberty X.
