Anderson shot to fame in The X-Files |
Actress Gillian Anderson, star of The X-Files and Bleak House, is expecting her second child, her spokeswoman has told the Associated Press news agency. London-based businessman Mark Griffiths is the father of the child, Anderson's second. The actress has an 11-year-old daughter, Piper, by her first marriage.
The 37-year-old star separated from her second husband, documentary filmmaker Julian Ozanne, in April this year.
Anderson played FBI agent Dana Scully in The X-Files from 1993 to 2002.
Earlier this year she was nominated for a Bafta for her performance in the BBC's Bleak House - an award won by her co-star, Anna Maxwell Martin.
Anderson, who now lives in London, is up for an Emmy award for the same role.
According to her spokeswoman Corinne Freiberg, the baby is "due at the end of the year".
